Introduction
Following the installation of the eXtension, the outer wall will need to be finished. As part of the service to you, we can provide the products needed to finish it. Some customers prefer a speedy installation, and a result we can provide Novabrik.
Novabrik is a BBA approved brick overlapping system. Novabrik's interlocking design prevents water from penetrating the wall from the outside and the mortarless construction promotes air flow inside the wall cavity, thus removing any moisture coming from the inside.
Advantages

- Economic and versatile - can be used on almost any structure
- Fast track construction in all weather conditions so easier to complete on time and within budget
- Minimal wastage, high strength product (minimum crushing strength 25N/mm²)
- Virtually maintenance free
- Breathable moisture free system - keeps cavity dry
- High resistance to freeze-thaw cycles and resists action of salt air and saltwater in coastal areas
- Aesthetically pleasing - available in a range of colours
- No need for vertical expansion joints

Following the installation of the eXtension, the outer wall will need to be finished. As part of the service to you, we can provide the products needed to finish it. Many customers want to match their new extension with the brickwork on their old house.
The core of the Target business is manufacturing Helical fixings, and one such fixing - Turbo Flex - is an ideal solution for tying in a new brick wall to the new eXtension. The fixing hammers into the timber batten behind, and twists in similar to a screw. It can then be built into the mortar joints as the outer skin is built up, providing multiple cavity drip-points and a secure fix to the outer leaf.
Another product we can provide is a masonry support bracket which can fix onto the side of the eXtension and act as a shelf for supporting the masonry being built up around the outside of it.

Following the installation of the eXtension, the outer wall will need to be finished. As part of the service to you, we can provide the products needed to finish it. As some eXtensions can be built as stand-alone garden rooms, some customers like to clad it in timber, perhaps to look like a shed. As always, this is not a problem!

Usually an eXtension will contain a window or a door. When we build the new eXtension in our factory we accomodate any number of windows or doors - of any style. Where possible we will manufacture them into the eXtension before installing the eXtension. On larger designs this may not be possible, but we can still install them on site with minimum hassle.

Obviously the most important piece of the eXtension is what goes on the inside.
When thinking about your new eXtension, we can try to accomodate any type of room. For example, in a lounge you will probably be looking at a number of sockets towards the corners, perhaps for a television and the various accessories that follow.
The only thing we can't do is add in the sofas and Grandpa's chair complete with Grandpa!

When thinking about your new eXtension, we can try to accomodate any type of room. For example, in a kitchen you will need your units and plumbing to come as standard. This isn't a problem. We have a team of kitchen builders in-house that will install the kitchen you have found before we install. We found it is easier for you if you have a working kitchen immediately after craning in the eXtension. We possible we will match in and extend kitchens as required.

A common use for an eXtension is to extend an existing kitchen. Following on from this a house can then have a dedicated dining area where the family unit can socialise.

A common use for an extension in smaller houses is the addition of a downstairs bathroom. This can range from a simple toilet and basin in a very small area to a complete wet room complete with a sauna!
When choosing your new bathroom, a number of elements need to be considered, from the colours of pans and basins to the styles of taps. If you find a bathroom you like, we'll endeavor to fix it for you!
When a bathroom is being installed in an eXtension, part of the service that we provide includes the fitting of it so when the eXtension is connected to the house, the bathroom will be available for use within a couple of hours.

When thinking about your new eXtension, we can try to accomodate any type of room. Office space is a common use for an eXtension, providing mum or dad some free space away from the kids - or, when they take over the computer, it provides somewhere to keep them quiet!

In general, the inside walls form the backbone of the eXtension, proving the aesthetic character within the room. It is on the walls where the majority of the colour scheme is applied and can hold various textures and materials.
Plasterboard is the pallette that will hold this variety of colour and character. On plasterboard paint may be applied or tiles laid the height of the walls.

Laminated boards are ideal for use within a wet area, such as a bathroom or kitchen. They are available with a range of different core materials, ranging from cheap plyboard to a high grade treated and waterproof wood.
Laminated boards are easy to fix to the wall and require just a single layer - plasterboard requires another coat such as paint. Laminated board is available in a range of colours, from neutral whites to vibrant reds, allowing it to be used with virtually any colour scheme that is applied.
As well as being a good asthetic choice, laminated boards are a hygenic wall covering. Because they require no grouts to fix, it is difficult for germs to attach to the walls, and any mess that does find it's way onto the wall (usually via a child's hands!) can easily be wiped down.

Flooring is one of the most important aspects to consider when creating your new eXtension. It needs to be the most hard wearing surface in the room, as well as being comfortable, easy on the eye and - in the case of a bathroom or kitchen - waterproof.
Tiled flooring is one of the most hard wearing floor coverings possible - withstanding a high amount of stamping, jumping and high heels! Another strong practical element from tiling is the ability to wipe clean any mess that is dropped, keeping the home clean and free from bacteria.
Tiles are available in a wide range of materials from natural stone to ceramic and porcelain, providing a wide range of colour and choice when fitting a room. They aren't limited to just a wide range of colours; tiles are available in a range of shapes and sizes meaning one can be as creative (or not!) with patterns when laying tiles.
It is not common for us to fit tiling before installation of the eXtension, but if that's what the lady wants...

Flooring is one of the most important aspects to consider when creating your new eXtension. It needs to be the most hard wearing surface in the room, as well as being comfortable, easy on the eye and - in the case of a bathroom or kitchen - waterproof.
In recent years vinyl flooring has made remarkable advances; leaving behind the dark days of long, ugly sheets of linoleum and entering a new era of textured surfaced made to look and feel like tiles. One of the main advantages of vinyl flooring has always been the speed that it can be laid into a property. It can be reeled off a long roll and laid flat and affixed within a couple of hours and is almost immediately available to walk on.
Vinyl floors also have upsides in cleaning, as they are easy to wipe down and do not stain easily. It is also difficult to discolour as would happen with grout in between tiles.

Timber flooring is a floor covering that is manufactured from wood and can be a structural or aesthetic feature. Timber floors are available in a wide range of shapes and sizes and this needs to be considered when thinking about patterns for the floor.
Timber floors are available in a range of different woods as well, providing a variety of not only colour but quality as well. Careful consideration should be made when selecting the type of timber floor required.
Timber floors are hard wearing but unlike tiles, timber floors retain heat better and as a result are generally more comfortable to walk on.

Careful consideration should be given to the type of roof required as there are a wide range of choices, most of which eXtensions can accomodate. As well as a choice of materials, eXtensions can handle pitched, pent or flat roofs with relative ease.
Skylights can be accomodated when fitting the roof onto the eXtension. In areas around the house with less light or in black spots, skylights can provide a welcome addition of light, and in some cases can completely transform the look and feel of a room.
Skylights are ideal in rooms that require a lot of objects around the walls. Where the walls are built up with bookshelves, sometimes it is difficult to accomodate vast numbers of windows around the sides, and this can suffocate a room and leave it with little or no natural light. When skylights are installed this problem is easily combatted.
In eXtensions, skylights tend to be fitted prior to installation where possible. While this may not be possible on larger builds (particularly where a skylight stretches across a number of units) necessary preparations will be made to add the skylight immediately after the unit is installed.

Rubber Roofing is one such example, providing a quick waterproof finish at a very cheap cost. Most rubber roofs nowadays are made from a high grade of rubber, and as such - when laid correctly - can be guaranteed to last in excess of 30 years. Our staff are fully trained on at least one manufacturer of rubber roofing.

Tiled roofs are the most popular choice of roof covering in Britain today. Tiled roofs are available in a wide range of materials from natural slates to more modern lightweight materials.
