Description
The Target Polyester Resin is a general purpose, two part, styrene-based resin with an oil-based catalyst. The 10:1 ratio is extruded with a hand applicator through a mix-in-the-nozzle system which produces a distinct colour change when the two components are properly mixed. The mix ratio cannot be altered, which, coupled with the colour change, minimises operator error.

Performance
As long as there is some degree of mixing between the hardener and the filler, the resin will set. The timing of the setting will change with the amount of hardener present, but as long as there is some colour change during mixing, the resin will go off.
Polyester resin is designed to cure as a solid mass, not as an adhesive. Although it does have some adhesive property the bonding is achieved by curing in the irregularities of the drilled hole. All polyester resins are susceptible to a small degree of shrinkage which will only need to be borne in mind when dealing with very large hole diameters. In this light it is not recommended that any polyester resin be used in diamond drilled or diamond cored holes.
The surfaces to which the resins is to bond should be thoroughly cleaned by removing debris then brushing and/or vacuuming before it is applied.
Polyester resin will cure under wet conditions which enables holes to also be cleaned with water, but, as with all resin materials it should not be applied under freezing conditions.
Usage
The protective cap and the plastic insert should be removed from the nozzle end, which should then be checked for any material obstructions, before screwing on the static mixer nozzle. The cartridge slots into a specially designed applicator gun, and gentle pressure may then be applied. Allow the resin to flow until a uniform colour is achieved to ensure good mixing. Any dust and debris should be removed from the hole either by brushing, blowing or washing. The Target Polyester Resin is now ready for application.
